It is not easy to plod along a littery bed of a taiga rivulet but easier than to forge through dense heaps of the deadfall. Moreover, there sometimes were places where snow was blown away by the wind and you could go over ice or hard snow crust. Besides, the rivulets flowed towards a larger river and in the taiga especially in the fog you could easily lose way and move in the circles.
