I was on the brink. Sleet, I got wet, I am hungry and incredibly tired! Being hungry I made 72 kilometres without rest but there was no sign of an expected village! And besides, a bitter disappointment, what I thought was a dressed fallen horse proved to be a sanded up lurch bar.
I broke down and burst into tears...
But that lasted only for an instant. I swore at myself. And indeed, who would live a dead horse, a lot of meat, when there are so many starving everywhere?! They would divide that carrion for workers, on account of the salaries.
