[Exiled Poles told me that there was Polish consul in Tomsk. He cares of the Poles and he also recruits volunteers who, via Persia, will be thrown against Germany and its allies. I am a Russian without doubts. But my paternal grandfather was a Pole. I might be useful in the army as a paramedic, I am a qualified veterinary assistant. But Tomsk is on the right bank of the Ob, I am on the left bank, and you can only cross the river over ice...]
Ice cakes were racing along the river rumbling and rasping; I sadly looked at that formidable scene and thought that the Ob ruined not only ice but also my chaotic hopes at the fabulous Polish consul. What net? Well, I'll go somewhere!
