To Dr. Mardna's question, "How are you, Alyosha?" Alyosha Nazarov always answered with a smile, "Well, not that bad, doctor!" And he added reassuringly, "Don't you worry, doctor! I will not die!"
"How does he live? After all, he is seven times dead but still alive. And it is I who should not worry?" The perplexed doctor banked his beard in a fist and shoved it into his mouth that was a sign of his utter bewilderment.
