Shooting in general is dangerous work, and it is especially dangerous on the 3rd layer where there is slippery as soap argillite in the roof. Polikarpov and I were very careful but... It happened so suddenly! Without warning the roof defeated the timbering, poles did not break or twist, they remained like splayed fingers but soaped layer collapsed. However I saw nothing then. Something knocked me on the back and I fell down bumping against the iron chute of the transporter with my forehead. I did not lose consciousness but... my legs grew numb, I clung with my hands but could not get up. Here Polikarpov - where did he come from? – grasped me across the abdomen like a cat and managed to jump over the chute into the drift. And the roof collapsed behind us.
So it happens when officially you are already on vacation! It is not a superstition...
