Old man Barzakh was creeping in the snow, kissed Khokhrin's feet and, wringing his hands, begged not to strike his name from the list of those eligible to get food ration meaning they were enjoying the right to buy 800 gram of bread daily with their money. He has two kids, wife and 90-year-old mother. He was weeping and wriggling like a squelched worm...  You should have seen Khokhrin's conceited face! It blows the mind! In the 20th century!
