[Local dogs, hunting wolfhounds help to hunt not only squirrels, Siberian weasels or chipmunks but also valuable animals like sables. In autumn the owners register their dogs and they become eligible to get a food ration which is three times more than a child's one.]

The hunters had eaten their dogs immediately after getting the "dogs' rations" (4 kilograms of rancid oats for a month), and it was possible to find plenty of dog bones, boiled down but still edible.

I beat those bones small and ate them. But soon the bones disappeared, they had been eaten by nonworkers - worn out perchers mainly from my lands, old people and children... As they didn't work they had more time and my discovery hadn't been patented.
