Mooneye...
It's odd! The sun barely set. It's still light. But a chain of wicks is lagging toward the service hatch leaning on the wall and feeling the way with sticks like in darkness!
But for them the darkness has actually fallen. This is a kind of vitamin deficiency called mooneye. The blind develop the ability to find their way in the darkness. But those perchers get blind only after the sunset. They stumble and trip everywhere and not to spill the precious bailer of thin broth they hurry to drink it over just at the service hatch.
The next one usually drops upon and punts the precious glop just there. The victim despairingly crawls in tramples snow with sawdust, gathers the sawdust sodden with the thin broth with the hand and eats it.
