To say that you are comfortable sleeping on a wire rack placed on two lockers in miners' changing room… No, you cannot say that… But you need to sleep somewhere, don't you? In daytime it was possible to take a nap in the lobby of the DITR. Thus I had to sleep in snatches between the shifts in the changing room. After all, I had to survive until the subsist on those 40 roubles got on release I had in my pocket. After getting the subsist I bought a sheet, a blanket and a towel and lodged in a shack. Only after getting on to feet I went to visit Vera Ivanovna <Gryazneva>.
